Molecular Models
Hints on buying a model set:

  1. buy it only if you really think you need it.
  2. you can get a larger kit and share with a friend.
  3. you may not need a model set if you are not going to be a chemistry major
  4. make sure you see the model set (even if its a picture) before you buy it.
  5. try not to buy a model that will break e.g. with wooden pieces.
  6. if you are planning to take more chemistry/biology courses, buy a kit that can be used for both organic and inorganic chemistry.
  7. you can sell your model kit next year if you think you will not need it.

Here are some places to start looking

  1. Here is a buying guide if you don't like mine.  There are also recommended model sets on this website.  https://chemistryhall.com/best-organic-chemistry-model-kit/
  2. HGS group: http://www.maruzen.info/hgs/catalog/ Very good and affordable model sets for organic chemistry.
  3. MolyMod: https://www.indigoinstruments.com/molecular_models/molymod/sets/organic-chemistry-ball-stick-model-kit-62009.html
  4. Prentice Hall Model Set: this is the most professional one.
